Student life: I started studying physics and astronomy at Aarhus University in 2004 and received my master degree in 2009. My bachelor thesis was titled "Direct detection of Dark Matter" and my master thesis was about variable stars in the open star clusters NGC 1817 and NGC 2243. I have detected several new variables (delta scuti variables) and verified old ones in NGC 1817. This work was published in "Communications in Asteroseismology", where the article was titled "NGC 1817: the richest population of δ Scuti stars". I also verified variables in the open star cluster NGC 2243 and found one new variable, which is probably not a member of the cluster though. More about my student life can be found under "Study". As a part time job during my last years of study I was at the Ole Rømer Observatory (ORO), where I showed guests the night sky through two 11" telescopes and talked about various subjects related to astronomy. Pictures I have acquired at ORO can be seen on the "Picture" site. Professional life: After finishing my master in astronomy I was hired at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Aarhus University. View my university profile here I am currently (2024) working as "Manager of research infrastructures in relation to space and astronomy". This includes being manager and head of operations of the SONG (Stellar Observations Network Group) project, manager and mission lead of small satellite missions. I started as a research assistant in early 2010 where I was developing Python software to remote control scientific equipment which should be used at the SONG site on Tenerife. The prototype telescope is now placed on the island, and has been in scientific operation since 2014. In the summer of 2012 I was hired as Support Astronomer until 2018. From 2018 I became manager of the SONG project and from 2021 I have the long title above which can be shortend to "Telescope and satellite manager". Personal life: I have two kids: Marley (2016) and Mira (2019) with my x-girlfriend. Curriculum vitae (2024): English |
